About

The South East European Research Centre (SEERC) is a multidisciplinary, not-for-profit research centre based in Thessaloniki, Greece. It was established by the International Faculty of the University of Sheffield, CITY College in 2004, as a truly international research institute with the mission to support the stable and peaceful development of South East Europe by conducting pure and applied research in, and for the region. The centre also follows the regulations of the University of Sheffield regarding ethics, gender aspects and societal engagement. SEERC has been working actively in the region of South East Europe and in particular the Western Balkans, as well as Turkey, on issues that range from Social Policy dialogues and the Europeanization process to promoting the region’s accession the European Research Area including science, technology, research and innovation policies.
